Causes
The skin in the décolleté area differs structurally from other parts of the body: It is particularly thin, contains hardly any subcutaneous fatty tissue and has only a few sebaceous glands. This makes it less able to store moisture. With increasing age, the content of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid also decreases - important components for a plump, firm complexion.
Another decisive factor is UV radiation. The décolleté is often exposed to the sun without protection, which greatly accelerates light-induced skin ageing (photoaging).
